If there's enough time, I would like to introduce how an 'OS/390 demopkg' can be running under a Linux+Hercules environment which truly simulates a Mainframe env.
For Mr. Sunhaoyang, I believe he will show us HP-UX and some new features of Solaris
Something to clarify:
1. This time T.I.T.A acts as a technical role. The main preparation like renting meeting room, organizing schedule and advertisement are made by another association called 'CITPAC' – ‘Chinese Information Technology Professionals Association of Canada’. So basically in the seminar we will co-operate with CITPAC, and personally I think from this event we can learn something about how to hold a successful seminar.
2. I know 1 hour speech is too short however the main purpose for us T.I.T.A is still to know each other better thru the seminar, but not the ‘pure’ IT skills only.
3. The seminar is free (though booking the meeting room is NOT FREE, which is done by CITPAC). Since CITPAC has put advertisement on all the media(web, newspaper, etc), I believe there may be not enough seats on that day. Of course I don’t care if you sit on the RS6000 server which should be very comfortable on a hot summer day :)
